My dad is a Great man.
Dad loves me. That sounds simple enough, doesn't it? Easy, but not simple.
My dad loves people. It comes easy to him. His warm loving spirit is inclusive to all who are receptive. He loves easily, not simply. When he loves, he gives everything he has to assure to best for those in his devoted reach. No amount of support, love, concern, protection, whoopins, or laughter will be withheld. Personally, I've been hugged, praised, whipped and grounded, ALL in one day. The offerings of Fathering are boundless and eagerly applied. He is all a Father should be, and more!
The security of his arms protected me as a young child, and as I grew older, his constant love and protection surrounded me, even when I was unaware. He is the rock of this family. The wise leader whose strong faith has had a great influence for God's kingdom and been a great example for his family to follow. Because of my dad, I understand how God loves. He is the model for integrity and solid character which is the basis for all his life choices.
He is such a good man that he took on the responsibility of being the father to not only me and my brother, but also my three son's who needed him so badly. To them, PawPaw is THE MAN.
His gentle nature and tender touch has made him the favorite of all the babies in our family. Each one has had the opportunity to snuggle, head rested on his sturdy shoulders, back massaged by his sturdy fingers, nestled in his loving arms. If only we could all remember the security and peace of one of those naps.
He has always cared for us, been involved in our lives and given his all for us. He is the humble man my son's strive to emulate and our whole family adores. Many children claim to have the most wonderful father, fortunately for me, my claim is accurate.
Happy Father's Day PawPaw! We love you!
